The First Day Of President Macron

Emmanuel Macron reviews the troops in the gardens of the Elysees on May 14th.
Emmanuel Macron became the eighth president of the Fifth French Republic on Sunday, at the age of 39, on a day full of symbols, marked by a concern for solemnity expressed at the time of the handover of power with Francois Hollande.
After the induction ceremony, Emmanuel Macron went to the Arc de Triomphe to revive the flame of the Unknown Soldier. The new Chief of Army then made a surprise visit to the military hospital in Percy, Clamart, "  at the bedside of soldiers wounded in combat  ." The traditional ceremony at the Hotel de Ville in Paris gave rise to a crowd bath of the presidential couple.

Emmanuel Macron then borrowed a military vehicle to go up the avenue des Champs-Elysees

The new president has rushed to the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.

In the afternoon around 15:30, Emmanuel Macron went to the bedside of the soldiers wounded in operation at the military hospital Percy.

Emmanuel Macron then met the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, in the late afternoon. 

The French President leaves the Paris City Hall with Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris. Behind them are Brigitte Macron and Bruno Julliard, first deputy mayor of Paris. 

President Macron leaves the Town Hall in the direction of the Elysee, where, in accordance with the promise made at the close of his investiture speech, he will be at work "as of this evening."
